Hornets Host Youthful Hawks In Southeastern Division Match up

After losing a heart breaker to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night by just one point, the Charlotte Hornets will be looking for revenge as the Hawks travel to the Queen City looking to take a 2-1 lead in this season series.

Following the high-scoring, 124-123 defeat to the now 2nd worst seed in the eastern conference, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte would immediately bounce back the following night for their best win of the season against the current 2nd best seed in the east, the MVP favorite, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks. It all makes perfect sense.

This game took an interesting swing in the Hornets favor. Milwaukee started this game on fire from behind the arc, making 8 of their first 10 three point shots in the first quarter alone, jumping out to a big lead early on. However, Charlotte would rally to take the lead due to some impressive defense lead by Hornets forward, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and they never looked back. The Bucks climbed back to have a chance to tie the game with the final shot, but the staggering defense from Kidd-Gilchrist forced a tough shot and a miss. Hornets would go on to win 110-107.

Hopefully Charlotte can keep the momentum from this big game to handle business against a poor Atlanta team that they should easily take care of. They allowed the Hawks to stick around on Sunday, and allowed them to have a fairly efficient night from the three point line. Something you cannot allow this young team to do.

The Hornets have to start off strong tonight, hit their shots early and establish a dominance on the defensive end of the ball. The return of Kidd-Gilchrist should massively help complete this task. His energy off the bench has been outstanding so far this season as he continues to grow into a reliable rotational player.
